2014 Ford Mustang GT coupe Review

2014 Ford Mustang GT coupe

The Ford Mustang GT is on the verge of being absolute and is nearing its life cycle, but the vehicle still has a lot to offer with its powerful 420 horsepower V8 engine capable of delivering 390 pounds per feet torque and its vintage design. The model will step down to allow the arrival of its new variant. However, the new variant will not offer any significant changes in its design or technical specifications apart from a trendy design and revised instrument cluster graphics. The coupe’s best selling point has always been its sleek retro theme exteriors, standard HID headlights, and tripartite sequential LED taillights. The vehicle supports a six-speed transmission gearbox which is available in two options – manual and automatic. The coupe reaches 0 to 60 miles per hours in just less than five seconds. The fuel economy is acceptable with 15 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway. The automatic transmission model offers improved city mileage up to 18 miles per gallon but slightly compromises upon the highway mileage which drops down to 25 miles per gallon. The chassis still uses the archaic style rear axle, and the vehicle is highly maneuverable along curving roads, especially when it is equipped with a track pack which supports Brembo brakes. The suspension is aggressive. The electronic steering supports various settings such as comfort, standard, and sports to tune the coupe as per driving needs.

The interior of the coupe is illuminated by a dual cowl sporty dashboard, with vintage gauges, and includes an over sized three spoke steering wheel. A 4.2 inch LCD screen located amidst the instrument panel provides access to “track apps” which is a recently added feature offering performance metrics related information such as “G” forces, acceleration timings, braking timings, and automated start. The coupe has the capability to haul people as well as cargo owing to its powerful engine. The trunk offers 13.2 cubic feet of storage space. The entry-level model includes AC, power accessories, AM/FMCD stereo system, and an AUX input. The exteriors include automated HID headlights LED taillights, fog lights, rear spoiler, and 18 inches painted aluminum wheels. The coupe supports cruise control.

The premium model includes an eight-speaker premium audio system with Sirius XM radio, Bluetooth connectivity, leather upholstery, and smart phone connectivity through the Ford’s SYNC system. In addition, other features such as a powered driver seat which is adjustable, ambient interior lighting facility, a 4.2 inch LCD screen situated in the instrument panel, and 19 inches aluminum wheels having painted pockets. Another model commonly known as the “California Special” offers a black grille, a tri bar pony badge, unique fascia with fog lamps, side scoops, rear pedestal spoiler, and a unique decklid badge having “California Special” displayed on the gas cap. All coupe models are available with dual front and side airbags, in addition to traction stability control system and tire pressure-monitoring system. In all the coupe is worth a buy.
