When Is The Time Ripe For Buying A Car?

best time to buy car
When it comes to buying a car, they say timing is everything. But then when has it ever been easy to figure out the right time for anything. And doesn’t it always happen that almost just after you bought something, somebody else buys it at a much better deal, or you sit in your home and keep thinking if you got the best deal and made the best decision or did your rush it too much, or should you have waited, or may be the prices of the product just after you bought it. All this makes you want to go and punch yourself or bang you head in the wall! And buying a car is not like buying a microwave or that hot tee. It takes a lot more thinking, lot more homework, lot more time and energy and a much bigger investment, but a few tips and tricks up your sleeve can help you get the right deal by perfecting your timing.

  1. Weekdays: Weekends are generally prime time for car buyers. This makes salesmen busy. Going on weekdays can ensure you get their undivided attention and thus, get all the help you need in choosing the perfect car as well as understanding what you are getting into.
  2. End of the year: Waiting till the end of the year is always a good option. The festive season makes car companies come up with great discounts and packages. This would get you a fair deal and great benefits.
  3. End of the model: If you just heard that a company is going to close down a certain model, then well it is time to visit the dealer and buy it.
  4. Later in the say: If you have already done your homework, and just want to go and get the deal, go later during the day. That’s when salesmen are tired, in no mood to negotiate too much and in a hurry to go home as soon as possible. It would save you time and money, but it is a very bad time for browsing.
  5. End of the month or quarter: Dealers generally have target – monthly, quarterly, etc. At the end of the period when they would be struggling and wanting to achieve their targets or even overshoot them for the benefits in line, would thus, become a great time for grabbing that sweet deal.

Be a wise buyer, do your homework well. Even if you have to knock on the dealers more than once, be at ease; it’s their job to explain and it’s your right to know and ask. One can never be 100% sure of having got the best deal, but we can push as much as we can towards the best deal. Instead of burning our heart later, we can do our due diligence and be a smart buyer. A little patience and effort is generally always rewarded, and buying cars does not stand exception to this either.
