The American dream is huge, and no matter how much the Chinese invade our products and utilities, the American dream remains refreshingly red, blue and white. And as Americans, we are proud of our cars, they are indeed the best in the world – top of the top. Running down the lane, here are the top five American cars of recent times, that the world shall remember as the best machines ever made out there –
This made-in-Michigan midsize luxury sports sedan from the house of the truly American General Motors has made its mark, as the third generation of the car makes its debut this fall. It is easily the best sedan General Motors ever made, the original CTS has been in the market for over a decade now. Cadillac for sure has a bona fide winner on the cards with its 2014 Cadillac CTS.

The Silverado 1500 is actually a Texas edition trim. They say the full-size pickups need to be big, tough and assertive, but the Silverado is a lot more than that with blockier styling cues, straighter lines and sharper edges, squared-off wheel wells, taller hood, engorged grill and so much more. The music system, the engine performance, everything is the best-in-class and mind-blowing. This four wheel drive is the best American mean machine out there for sure, not just the usual ‘denim and work boots’ thing.
Ford has had many best selling trucks in its kitty. But the F – 150 is grilled, the three bar chrome grilles sets it apart from the rest with high intensity discharge lamps. The made in Michigan and Missouri Ford truck F – 150 is just as American as a Chevy pickup. Hard to believe, but the F-150 2013 is the 12th generation of the car and still enjoys immense popularity among the American masses. The 13th 2015 edition is expected to be out soon. And as a matter of fact, without the trucks, Ford wouldn’t be the giant it is today.
Ford Mustang is one of the most “legend – wait for it – ary” cars of American times. And keeping the legend evergreen is a challenge that gets tougher as the age of the legend goes up. This 49 year old of American autodom has been going strong all along by striking a delicate balance of creativity, understanding of Mustang loyalists and Mustang wannabes as well as budgets. The cinema and TV has gobbled up this car, with total appearances of about 3000, so much that even James Bond couldn’t resist it!
Could there be a cooler car than the original jeep?. Made in Toledo, Ohio the Wrangler is a compact, mid-size, four wheel drive off-road SUV from Chrysler. The Jeep Wrangler has its origins in the World War II time Willys MB. The Wrangler can carry you much, much further into the wilderness off the road than perhaps any other vehicle would. It’s not so expensive, its tough, its strong, its customizable and it is American!
There are hotdogs, there are French fries and burger. There is McDonalds, Burger King, KFC and Ben & Jerry’s. There are Pretzels and tootsies and corn flakes. And there are American cars. Some things are truly American and the world can copy them, imitate them, try to be like them; but that doesn’t make them any less American. But isn’t that exactly how the American dream is – everybody wants to live it and feel it.
